So, what is зелень?
"Зелень" is a term used in Russian cuisine to refer to a variety of fresh green herbs and leafy vegetables, often used to add flavor, aroma, and nutrition to dishes. This ingredient encompasses a wide range of herbs such as parsley, dill, cilantro, basil, and mint, as well as greens such as lettuce, spinach, and arugula. Зелень adds a fresh, vibrant flavor and color to soups, salads, stews, and sauces, and is an essential ingredient in many traditional Russian recipes. It is also highly nutritious, rich in vitamins and minerals, and is widely used in Russian home cooking and restaurants alike.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
