So, what is zselatin?
Gelatin, also known as zselatin in some regions, is a protein obtained from the collagen found in animal bones, skin, and connective tissue. It is commonly used as a gelling agent in foods such as jelly, marshmallows, and gummy candies. Gelatin can also be used to thicken and stabilize desserts like custard and cheesecake. It has a unique texture, providing a smooth and creamy mouthfeel that easily dissolves in the mouth. Gelatin is a versatile ingredient that provides structure and thickness to various food products, making it an essential component in many recipes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
