So, what is animal fats?
Animal fats are a type of fat derived from animal sources, typically from the adipose tissue of mammals. These fats are commonly used in cooking and baking due to their unique flavor and texture. Animal fats are also often used in the production of processed foods, such as snack foods and baked goods, to improve their taste and texture. However, excessive consumption of animal fats has been linked to health problems such as heart disease and obesity, and thus it is important to consume them in moderation. Some common sources of animal fats include beef tallow, lard, and butter.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
