So, what is artificial flavours?
Artificial flavors are synthetic compounds designed to mimic the taste and aroma of natural ingredients. These lab-created flavors are widely used in the food industry to enhance the taste and appeal of processed foods, snacks, and beverages. They can be made from a combination of chemicals, and can range from sweet and fruity to savory and spicy. While artificial flavors are generally considered safe by regulatory agencies, some studies suggest they may have negative effects on health, such as triggering allergic reactions or disrupting hormone function. As a result, some consumers prefer to choose natural flavorings whenever possible.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
