So, what is bettes?
Bettes, also known as Swiss chard or silver beet, are a leafy green vegetable that belong to the same family as beets and spinach. With their vibrant, multi-colored stems and large, glossy leaves, bettes are not only visually appealing, but also incredibly nutritious. They are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like iron, magnesium, and potassium. Bettes have a slightly bitter taste that mellows out when cooked, making them a versatile ingredient in many savory dishes. Whether sautéed with garlic and olive oil, tossed into salads, or used as a filling for savory pies, bettes are a delicious and healthy addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
