So, what is chards?

Chards, also known as Swiss chard, are a leafy green vegetable with large, tender leaves and thick, crunchy stalks that come in a range of colors from white to bright red. The leaves have a slightly sweet taste and a tender texture, while the stalks have a crisp, juicy bite. Chards are a great source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as iron, magnesium, and potassium. They are versatile in cooking and can be sautéed, steamed, roasted, or eaten raw in salads. Chards' vibrant colors make them a beautiful addition to any dish, and their mild flavor makes them a great substitute for spinach or kale in many recipes.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like chards?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
