So, what is choux frisés?
Choux frisés, also known as frilly cabbage or savoy cabbage, is a leafy green vegetable that is a member of the Brassica family. It is a cool-season crop that is typically grown in the fall and winter months. Its leaves are crinkled and ruffled, with a bright green color and a slightly bitter taste. Choux frisés can be eaten raw in salads or cooked in a variety of ways, such as sautéed or braised. This versatile ingredient is low in calories and high in fiber, vitamin C, and potassium, making it a nutritious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
