So, what is grasas vegetales parcialmente hidrogenadas?
"Grasas vegetales parcialmente hidrogenadas" is a food ingredient used extensively in processed foods due to its ability to increase the shelf life of products. Partially hydrogenated vegetable oils are created by adding hydrogen gas to liquid vegetable oil, resulting in a solid or semi-solid fat. These fats are commonly found in baked goods, fried foods, and snack items. However, consuming partially hydrogenated oils can increase the risk of heart disease and other health issues. As such, many countries have banned their use in food production, and food manufacturers are gradually phasing them out in favor of healthier alternatives.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
