So, what is huiles de palme totalement hydrogénées?
Huiles de palme totalement hydrogénées, or fully hydrogenated palm oil, are a common ingredient in processed foods due to their stability and ability to improve texture. During the hydrogenation process, unsaturated fats in palm oil are converted into saturated fats, resulting in a solid fat with a high melting point. While this may increase shelf life and enhance flavor, it also increases levels of trans fats, which have been linked to various health issues. For this reason, fully hydrogenated palm oil is often considered a less healthy option than other oils.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
