So, what is lanosterols?
Lanosterols are a type of steroid alcohol found in many plant and animal tissues. They are a precursor to various hormones, including cholesterol, and can be converted to vitamin D. Lanosterols also play a role in maintaining the structural integrity of cell membranes. In addition, they have been studied for their potential health benefits, including their ability to reduce cholesterol levels and inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Lanosterols can be found in a variety of foods, including mushrooms, whole grains, and some types of seafood.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
