So, what is mustard seeds?
Mustard seeds are small, round seeds that come from the mustard plant, a member of the Brassicaceae family. These seeds are commonly used as a spice in cooking and are known for their pungent, sharp flavor. Mustard seeds come in different varieties, including black, brown, and yellow, and each has its unique flavor profile. Black mustard seeds are the spiciest and have a bitter taste, while brown mustard seeds are milder and slightly sweet. Yellow mustard seeds are the mildest of the three and are commonly used to make classic yellow mustard. Mustard seeds are often used in Indian, Middle Eastern, and European cuisine, adding a distinctive flavor to dishes such as pickles, chutneys, and curries.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
