So, what is óleos vegetais?
"Óleos vegetais" is a Portuguese term that translates to "vegetable oils" in English. These oils are derived from various plants and are widely used in cooking, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. They are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants, making them a healthy alternative to animal-based fats. Common vegetable oils include olive, coconut, sunflower, soybean, and canola oil. These oils have different smoke points, flavors, and nutritional profiles, making them suitable for different cooking methods and cuisines. Despite their health benefits, excessive consumption of vegetable oils can lead to obesity and other health problems, so moderation is key.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
