So, what is orge maltés?
Orge malté, also known as malted barley, is a crucial ingredient in the brewing industry and a versatile addition to many culinary creations. It is made by soaking barley grains in water until they begin to sprout, then drying and roasting them to halt the sprouting process. This process releases enzymes that break down the grain's starches into sugars, providing a sweet, nutty flavor and a unique aroma. Orge malté is commonly used to add depth and complexity to beer, but it can also be used in baking and cooking to enhance the flavor and texture of bread, pastries, and sauces.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
