So, what is parsley rakes?
The term "parsley rakes" is a typographical or optical character recognition error for parsley flakes, which are dried, crushed leaves of the parsley herb, Petroselinum crispum. Parsley is a biennial plant belonging to the Apiaceae family that is cultivated globally as a culinary seasoning. To make parsley flakes, the fresh leafy foliage is harvested, washed, dehydrated using controlled heat or air drying, and milled into small pieces. It is frequently listed on the labels of seasoning blends, canned soups, instant noodles, salad dressings, pasta sauces, and prepared frozen meals.
this ingredient is vegan because it is derived entirely from a cultivated plant. The agricultural harvesting, washing, and dehydration methods used to produce dried parsley flakes do not require animal products, animal-derived enzymes, or bone char processing aids. Because the substance is purely botanical in origin and undergoes standard mechanical processing without animal inputs, it remains completely vegan.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
