So, what is reine-claudes?

Reine-Claudes, also known as Greengage plums, are a variety of small to medium-sized greenish-yellow plums with a sweet and slightly tart flavor. They are named after Queen Claude of France, who was said to have been particularly fond of this type of fruit. Reine-Claudes are typically in season from July to September and are often used in jams, desserts, and even savory dishes. They are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. When fully ripe, the flesh of the fruit is juicy and flavorful, with a delicate and almost floral aroma.

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
