So, what is sémolas?
Sémolas are small, coarse grains of wheat that have been milled and sifted to remove the bran and germ, leaving behind only the starchy endosperm. This results in a fine, yellowish-white flour that is highly versatile and commonly used in Mediterranean cuisine for making pasta, couscous, bread, and even sweets. Sémolas have a slightly gritty texture and a nutty flavor that can add depth and complexity to dishes. They are also high in protein and complex carbohydrates, making them a nutritious choice for those looking to add more whole grains to their diet.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
