So, what is vanilla extractives?
Vanilla extractives are aromatic substances derived from the seed pods of vanilla orchids. These extractives have a sweet, floral fragrance with notes of caramel and spice, making them a popular ingredient in baking, confectionery, and perfumery. To produce vanilla extractives, the seeds are first harvested, fermented, and dried, before being steeped in alcohol to create a concentrated liquid that can be used in various applications. Vanilla extractives are highly valued for their unique flavor profile, and are often considered a luxury ingredient due to their high demand and limited supply.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
