So, what is vlees?

Vlees is a Dutch word that translates to "meat" in English. It refers to the flesh of animals, usually from cows, pigs, chickens or sheep, that are commonly consumed by humans as a source of protein. Vlees can be prepared in a variety of ways, including grilling, roasting, sautéing, and frying. It provides essential nutrients like iron, zinc, and vitamin B12, but can also be high in saturated fat and cholesterol. Vlees is a staple ingredient in many traditional dishes around the world, but in recent years, there has been a growing trend towards plant-based alternatives due to concerns over animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
