So, what is acacia gum?
Acacia gum, also known as gum arabic, is a natural gum harvested from the sap of the Acacia tree. It is commonly used in the food industry as a stabilizer, thickener, and emulsifier, particularly in confectionery products like gummy candies and marshmallows. Acacia gum is also used in the production of beverages, baked goods, and dairy products due to its ability to improve texture and prevent crystallization. In addition to its functional properties, acacia gum is also known for its potential health benefits, including promoting digestive health and reducing inflammation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
