So, what is aceite de algodon?
Aceite de algodón, also known as cottonseed oil, is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of cotton plants. It has a neutral taste and a high smoke point, making it ideal for cooking at high temperatures. This oil is commonly used in the food industry for frying, baking, and as an ingredient in salad dressings or margarine. It contains high levels of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, making it a healthier alternative to other types of oils that are high in saturated fats. Additionally, aceite de algodón is often used in skincare products due to its moisturizing properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
