So, what is aceite de palmiste?
Aceite de palmiste is a type of vegetable oil that is derived from the kernel, or inner seed, of the oil palm fruit. It is a rich source of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. The oil is commonly used in the food industry for its neutral flavor, high melting point, and stability at high temperatures. Aceite de palmiste is often used in the production of baked goods, confectionery, and processed foods. It is also used in cosmetics and personal care products due to its moisturizing and emollient properties. However, its production has been associated with environmental and social concerns, such as deforestation and labor exploitation in some regions.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
