So, what is acid whey?
Acid whey is a byproduct of cheese and yogurt production that contains lactic acid, minerals, and some residual protein. It has a tart flavor and thin consistency, making it a popular ingredient in food production for its acidity and tanginess. Acid whey can be used in the production of beverages, baked goods, and confectionery products. Additionally, it is a rich source of calcium and other nutrients, making it a valuable ingredient in nutritional supplements. Despite its benefits, acid whey can pose environmental concerns due to its high organic load, prompting new methods for its utilization and management.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
