So, what is αμύγδαλα?
Αμύγδαλα (amígthala) are the Greek word for almonds, a popular and versatile ingredient used in cuisines around the world. Almonds are highly nutritious, packed with protein, healthy fats, and fiber, making them a great addition to any meal or snack. They have a distinct nutty flavor and a crunchy texture that can be enjoyed raw, roasted, or toasted. In cooking, almonds can be ground into flour for gluten-free baking, chopped and sprinkled on salads or yogurt, or blended into creamy sauces and dips. Almonds are also commonly used in desserts, from classic almond croissants to decadent almond cakes and cookies.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
