So, what is anchois?
Anchovies, or "anchois" in French, are small, oily fish that add a distinct umami flavor to dishes. These saltwater fish are typically found in the Mediterranean and are often used in Italian, Spanish, and French cuisine. With their intense, briny taste, anchovies are a popular ingredient in sauces, dressings, and as a topping for pizzas. They are also commonly filleted and served on appetizer plates. Although some may be put off by their strong flavor, anchovies are a beloved ingredient among food enthusiasts who appreciate their unique taste and versatility in cooking.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
