So, what is aprikosenkerne?
Aprikosenkerne, also known as apricot kernels, are the seeds found inside apricots. These small, oval-shaped kernels have a beige color and a mild, slightly sweet flavor. They are often used in baking and cooking, particularly in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, and can be ground into a fine powder or chopped for use in recipes. Aprikosenkerne are also a source of important nutrients such as protein, fiber, healthy fats, and vitamins B17 and E. However, it's important to note that consuming large quantities of aprikosenkerne can be toxic due to their cyanide content, so they should be consumed in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
