So, what is sucre brut?
Sucre brut, also known as "raw sugar," is a minimally processed sugar made from the juice of sugarcane. Unlike refined white sugar, sucre brut is not stripped of its natural molasses content, giving it a distinctive amber color and a rich, caramel-like flavor. It is coarser in texture than white sugar and can be used as a substitute in baking, coffee, or tea. Sucre brut is a popular choice among health-conscious consumers as it contains trace amounts of minerals like calcium, iron, and potassium. Additionally, it is less processed than white sugar, which makes it a more natural and wholesome option.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
