So, what is bardane?
Bardane, also known as burdock, is a root vegetable that is popular in Japanese cuisine and traditional Chinese medicine. This gnarled, brownish-black root is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and has a slightly sweet, earthy flavor. Bardane is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and has been used to treat a variety of health conditions, including acne, arthritis, and liver problems. It is commonly eaten raw or cooked in soups, stews, and stir-fries, and is also brewed into tea or made into a tincture for medicinal purposes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
