So, what is beta-caroteen?
Beta-carotene is a brightly colored pigment found in many fruits and vegetables, particularly in those that are orange or yellow in color. It is a member of the carotenoid family and is often used as a natural food coloring. Beta-carotene is also a potent antioxidant that can help protect the body against damage from harmful free radicals. Once consumed, the body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A, which is essential for maintaining healthy vision, skin, and immune system function. Foods high in beta-carotene include carrots, sweet potatoes, mangoes, and leafy greens.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
