So, what is betakarotiini?
Beta-carotene, also known as betakarotiini in Finnish, is a carotenoid pigment found in plants, particularly in orange and yellow fruits and vegetables. This antioxidant is a precursor of vitamin A, and it plays a vital role in maintaining healthy skin, eyes, and immune system. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and may reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases. Beta-carotene can be found in foods such as carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, spinach, and kale. Supplementation with beta-carotene is also available in the form of pills, but it is always recommended to get nutrients from whole foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
