So, what is cacao bean?
The cacao bean is a small, dark, and bitter seed that grows on the cacao tree, native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. Once harvested, the beans undergo a series of processes to become the beloved ingredient that we know as chocolate. Cacao is known for its rich and complex flavor profile, which can range from fruity and floral to nutty and earthy, depending on the variety of bean and its terroir. Apart from its culinary uses, cacao is also prized for its health benefits, being a rich source of antioxidants and other beneficial compounds.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
