So, what is calcium of carbonate?
Calcium carbonate is a naturally occurring mineral compound found in rocks, shells, and pearls. It is commonly used as a food ingredient to fortify products with calcium, an essential mineral for maintaining strong bones and teeth. Calcium carbonate is a white, odorless powder with a chalky texture that is insoluble in water. It is commonly added to dairy products, such as milk and cheese, as well as to baked goods and dietary supplements. Calcium carbonate also plays a critical role in food processing, where it is used as a pH regulator and stabilizer.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
