So, what is calcium peroxide?
Calcium peroxide is a white, odorless, and tasteless powder that is commonly used as a food additive and bleaching agent. It is composed of calcium oxide and hydrogen peroxide, which combine to release oxygen when exposed to water or acidic substances. Calcium peroxide is widely used in food processing as a dough conditioner and preservative, as well as in the production of dairy products and fruit juices. It is also used as a soil conditioner in agriculture and as a disinfectant in water treatment. Calcium peroxide is considered safe for human consumption when used within regulated limits.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
