So, what is cambric?

Cambric is a finely woven cotton fabric that is commonly used in the textile industry. However, it is also the name of an ingredient used in cooking. Cambric is a type of cloth used to strain liquids and is typically made from a blend of cotton and polyester. When used as an ingredient in cooking, cambric is wrapped around herbs, spices, or other flavorings and then placed into soups, stews, or broths to infuse the dish with their flavors. Due to its porous nature, cambric allows for maximum flavor extraction while keeping any unwanted solids out of the finished dish.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like cambric?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
