So, what is carbonato de amonio?
Carbonato de amonio, also known as ammonium carbonate, is a white, powdery chemical compound that is commonly used in baking and as a cleaning agent. It is composed of ammonium, carbon, and oxygen molecules, and is often used as a leavening agent in recipes that require a fluffy texture, such as cookies and crackers. When heated, carbon dioxide gas is released, which causes the dough to rise. However, due to its strong ammonia odor, it is not recommended for use in sweet baked goods. Additionally, it is also used as a cleaning agent for its ability to break down and dissolve tough stains and grime.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
