So, what is carbonatos de amónio?
Carbonatos de amónio, also known as ammonium carbonates, are a common food ingredient that acts as a leavening agent in baked goods. It is a white crystalline powder that releases carbon dioxide gas when exposed to heat or acids, causing the dough or batter to rise and creating a light and airy texture in the final product. Ammonium carbonates have a distinctive odor and are commonly used in traditional European baked goods like cookies, biscuits, and cakes. This ingredient is also used in the production of some chocolates and cocoa-based products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
