So, what is carp?
Carp is a freshwater fish commonly found in Europe and Asia, known for its versatility in cooking and mild flavor. With a firm texture and low fat content, carp can be pan-fried, grilled, or baked, and is often used in traditional dishes such as gefilte fish in Jewish cuisine or escabeche in Spanish cuisine. Carp is also a popular ingredient in Asian cuisine, particularly in China and Japan, where it is prized for its delicate taste and use in sushi. In addition to its culinary uses, carp is also valued for its nutritional benefits, being a good source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and essential vitamins and minerals.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
