So, what is cire d' carnauba?
Cire d' carnauba, also known as carnauba wax, is a natural plant-based wax derived from the leaves of the carnauba palm tree, which grows in northeastern Brazil. It is a hard, brittle, yellow-brown substance that is commonly used as a glazing agent or coating for food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Carnauba wax is known for its excellent water resistance and high melting point, which makes it ideal for use in products that require a glossy finish or a protective coating. It is also commonly used as an emulsifier, binder, or thickener in various applications. With its unique properties and versatile applications, cire d' carnauba is a popular ingredient in many industries.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
