So, what is cire de carnaùba?
Cire de Carnaùba, also known as Carnauba wax, is a natural plant wax obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian wax palm tree. It is a hard and glossy wax that is widely used in the food industry as a coating and emulsifier due to its high melting point and water resistance. It is commonly used to give a shiny finish to candies, chocolates, and fruits, as well as to prevent oil separation in peanut butter and other spreads. In addition to its food applications, Cire de Carnaùba is also used in various industrial products, such as car wax, polishes, and cosmetics.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
