So, what is de coing?
De coing, also known as quince paste, is a sweet and tangy culinary ingredient that originates from the Mediterranean region. Made by slowly simmering quince fruit with sugar and lemon juice until it thickens to a smooth and velvety consistency, de coing is commonly used in both sweet and savory dishes. Its unique flavor profile is reminiscent of a blend between apple, pear, and citrus, with a subtle floral aroma that adds depth to any recipe. De coing is a versatile ingredient that can be used as a spread, a glaze, or a filling in pastries and desserts, and pairs particularly well with cheese, nuts, and spices.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
