So, what is de comté?
"De Comté" is a type of hard cheese that originated from the Jura region in Eastern France. It is made from unpasteurized cow's milk and aged for a minimum of four months, resulting in a nutty, earthy flavor with a slightly sweet finish. The texture is firm and dense with small, irregular holes throughout. De Comté is a versatile ingredient that can be used in various dishes, such as gratins, salads, soups, and sandwiches. It pairs well with full-bodied wines, cured meats, and fruits like apples and pears.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
