So, what is de poivre blanc?
"De poivre blanc" is a French term that refers to white pepper. This spice is derived from the Piper nigrum plant, where the peppercorns are harvested at a different stage of maturity than black pepper. White pepper has a milder flavor and aroma than its black counterpart, with a subtle heat and a distinct earthy taste. It is commonly used in French cuisine to season sauces, soups, and stews, as well as in Asian cuisine for stir-fries and marinades. In addition to its culinary uses, white pepper is also believed to have health benefits, including aiding digestion and improving blood sugar control.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
