So, what is disulfites de sodium?
Disulfites de sodium, also known as sodium disulfite, is a food additive commonly used as a preservative and antioxidant in the food industry. It is a white, crystalline powder with a slightly sulfurous odor and taste. As an antioxidant, disulfites de sodium works by inhibiting the oxidation of fats and oils, thereby extending the shelf life of food products. It is commonly used in dried fruits, wine, beer, and processed meats. Disulfites de sodium may cause allergic reactions in some individuals, and its use in food products is regulated by food safety authorities.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
