So, what is du lieu?
Du lieu is a Vietnamese ingredient commonly used in dishes such as pho and bun bo hue. Also known as Vietnamese pork meatballs, it is made by combining ground pork with various herbs and spices such as garlic, shallots, fish sauce, and black pepper. The mixture is then rolled into small meatballs and cooked in broth until tender and flavorful. The resulting du lieu meatballs are juicy, aromatic, and a staple in many Vietnamese dishes. They add a depth of flavor and texture to any dish they are added to, making them a versatile ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
