So, what is carnitine?
Carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative that plays a crucial role in energy production and metabolism. It is synthesized in the liver and kidneys and can also be obtained from dietary sources such as meat, fish, and dairy products. Carnitine helps transport fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they can be oxidized to produce energy. It also acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from oxidative stress. Research suggests that carnitine may have potential health benefits, including improving exercise performance, reducing muscle damage, and supporting heart health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
