So, what is emmenthal?
Emmenthal, also known as Emmental or Swiss cheese is a hard, yellowish cheese with distinctive large holes, originating from the Emme River valley in Switzerland. Made from cow's milk, it has a nutty and mildly sweet taste with a smooth and silky texture. The cheese is aged for several months, developing a complex flavor and aroma that pairs well with fruits, bread, and wine. Emmenthal is frequently used in dishes such as fondue, sandwiches, and quiches, as well as in traditional Swiss cuisine. It is a versatile ingredient that adds depth and flavor to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
