So, what is ethylalcohol?
Ethyl alcohol, also known as ethanol, is a colorless and flammable liquid that is widely used in food processing as a solvent, preservative, and flavor enhancer. It is produced by fermenting sugars and starches from crops such as corn, wheat, and barley. Ethanol has a slightly sweet taste and a distinctive odor that is often associated with alcoholic beverages. In addition to its culinary applications, it is also used as a fuel additive and in the production of personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and cleaning agents. However, excessive consumption of ethyl alcohol can cause harmful effects on the body, so it should be consumed in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
