So, what is farine du riz?
Farine du riz, or rice flour in English, is a versatile ingredient made from finely ground rice grains. It is commonly used as a substitute for wheat flour in gluten-free recipes and is an essential component of many traditional Asian dishes. This fine, white powder has a slightly sweet and nutty flavor and can be used to thicken sauces, coat meats and vegetables for frying, or make noodles and dumplings. Rice flour is also a popular choice for baking delicate cakes and pastries, and its low glycemic index makes it a healthy alternative to regular flour.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
