So, what is fermenți de iaurt?
Fermented yogurt cultures, also known as "fermenți de iaurt" in Romanian, are the live microorganisms used to ferment milk into yogurt. These cultures contain a variety of beneficial bacteria, such as Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, which help to break down the lactose in milk and produce lactic acid. This process gives yogurt its characteristic tangy flavor and creamy texture, while also providing a range of potential health benefits. Fermented yogurt cultures are commonly used in the production of yogurt and other fermented dairy products, such as kefir and sour cream.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
