So, what is fractionated coconut oil?
Fractionated coconut oil is a highly versatile and stable ingredient used in the food industry for its many benefits. It is a form of coconut oil that has been purified and processed to remove most of its long-chain triglycerides, leaving only the medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) intact. This results in a liquid oil that is lighter, more easily absorbed, and has a longer shelf life than regular coconut oil. Fractionated coconut oil is often used as a cooking oil, in salad dressings, and as a substitute for other oils in baked goods. It is also popular in the cosmetic industry due to its moisturizing properties and ability to penetrate the skin quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
