So, what is gai lan?
Gai lan, also known as Chinese broccoli, is a leafy green vegetable that is popular in Asian cuisine. With long, slender stalks and dark green leaves, it has a slightly bitter taste and a mild, earthy flavor that is often compared to that of broccoli. Gai lan is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as iron and calcium, making it a nutritious addition to any dish. It can be steamed, stir-fried, or blanched and served as a side dish, or used as a flavorful ingredient in soups, stir-fries, and noodle dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
